Ember

The brief

A launch film for an invented amber fragrance: the bottle must be the same real, expensive object in every shot, and the film has to carry a mood without a word.

The craft

1. 01Locked the bottle from a hero frame and used it as the product reference for every shot, so its shape, cap and facets never change.
2. 02Built shot by shot: light across the facets, a slow-motion drop, the bottle on a dune, sand on glass, the hero. Each shot is the best of several takes.
3. 03A separate score laid under the edit so the music runs unbroken across the cuts; the wordmark is typeset.
